Can anyone explain this critical documentary The Exodus Decoded The History Channel last night?

"Trying to find an" explanation scientifically plausible "for biblical events, the film loses a very important point: The Bible is a testimony of faith, not a history book or science written by authors who, inspired by the Holy Spirit, were trying to discern and understand God's hand in the drama of salvation. "I guess you're talking about on behalf of all Catholics, so it is saying no biblical events happened, happened, happened out of space / time, or what? In addition, if there is a history book or science, then why the arguments advanced for the tabernacle and lists and lists of ancestors, for example? I believe it is a very perspective Catholic. Although it may not be exclusively Catholic. Here's the deal: Catholics do not believe that the events of the Bible did not happen, but I really think that words written on it, while guided by God, they are a reflection of the time and place they were written. For example: the story of creation. You can see Him as God, literally, the creation of the earth in 7 days. Or, you can see it as a Hebrew narrative device: a way to sort the facts chronologically. Each "Day" could have taken thousands of years, but we are confident that God was watching and guided the whole process. In fact, if one ignores the timeline of the day day in the Genesis and comparing the order of the creation story with the order of development of the Earth and the evolution postulated by modern science, is a kind of remarkable how the two match. Similarly, Adam and Eve could have and probably did evolve from apes, but at some point, God selected a pair of pre-human, endowed with a soul, and is of the entire human race has emerged. So the criticism because it was probably a little wrong indicated. The Bible is, in fact, a history book – which tells the story of the Jewish people. But it is not a history book as you could find at the library, and all events are shown scientifically proven facts and absolutely, 100% recorded in exactly the way it happened. The critical point was that while the Bible is "truth" literal not a scientific standpoint, because it is not its purpose – its purpose is to witness the only Truth – God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. An ancestor is a parent or (recursively) the parent of an ancestor (i.e., a grandparent, greatgrandparent, greatgreatgrandparent, and so forth). Two individuals have a genetic relationship if one is the ancestor of the other, or if they share a common ancestor. In evolutionary theory, species which share an evolutionary ancestor are said to be of common descent. However, this concept of ancestry does not apply to some bacteria and other organisms capable of horizontal gene transfer.
