Genographic Project: does anyone participate?

The Genographic Project states that "the ancient trails' footsteps of his ancestors Throughout history using DNA. "Does anyone do this? Do you recommend that? https: / / www3.nationalgeographic.com/genographic / For someones anthropological history of maternal or paternal direct ancestors I think it's very interesting. The question is whether this is really what finally deliver to money, so I ask ….

No, did not participate and has no intention of doing so. In addition to the cost of DNA tests, check out one of the first things you see when you go to the website … DNA studies suggest that …. This is actually a DNA test cheaper ($ 99.95 plus shipping and handling). If it's worth the money for you, then by all means go for it. But there is also a "circular" problem with this type of study – inevitable when the study is performed as is. If you decide to participate after receiving the results, asked to identify certain cultural and ancestral origins itself. Of course you are doing this to find it. Also before deciding (National Geographic is a well respected organization and has submitted their resignation very clear and prominent – I wish all those places would) think about this limitation clear …. "Also, this is not a genealogy study. You will not learn about their grandparents or other relatives, and DNA trail will not necessarily lead to its current location. By contrast, the results reveal the anthropological story of maternal and paternal direct ancestors, where they lived and how they migrate around the world makes many thousands of years. "So really, is a choice pure personal. Is it worth the money? Is that what you are doing (just make sure you understand what they are doing – and openly and clearly explain this) interesting to you? If so, really, go for it.

“The ancestors are out there…you have to believe me.”From acclaimed author Scott Sigler—New York Times bestselling creator of Infected and Contagious—comes a tale of genetic experimentation’s worst nightmare come true.  Every five minutes, a transplant candidate dies while waiting for a heart, a liver, a kidney.  Imagine a technology that could provide those life-saving transplant organs for a nominal fee … and imagine what a company would do to get a monopoly on that technology. On a remote island in the Canadian Arctic, PJ Colding leads a group of geneticists who have discovered this holy grail of medicine. By reverse-engineering the genomes of thousands of mammals, Colding’s team has dialed back the evolutionary clock to re-create humankind’s common ancestor. The method? Illegal. The result? A computer-engineered living creature, an animal whose organs can be implanted in any person, and with no chance of transplant rejection. There’s just one problem: these ancestors are not the docile herd animals that Colding’s team envisioned. Instead, Colding’s work has given birth to something big, something evil.  With these killer creatures on the prowl, Colding and the woman he loves must fight to survive — even as government agents close in to shut the project down, and the deep-pocketed company backing this research proves to have its own cold-blooded agenda.   As the creators become the prey in the ultimate battle for survival, Scott Sigler takes readers on the ultimate thrill-ride—and offers a chilling cautionary account of what can happen when hubris, greed, and madness drive scientific experimentation past the brink of reason.
