help needed tracing grandfather ?
Ive spent mths trying to trace him, i know all about him except where he was born, ive done ancestry etc, have ordered certs and all have been wrong. i now have no clue what to do. Ive wasted loads of money.
Please can anyone help me find a birth cert for him. I always thought he was english but now who knows, he dosent seem to appear on england and wales bmd indexes.
Frederick george walker, born 11/06/1903.
Married in 1926 , was a sapper based in pennar barracks (pembrokeshire wales) On the marrige cert !
fathers name : William.
By 1944 he was a cook in the navy.
Died in 1963 age 59. Family lived in kent for many years.
I’d suggest you edit your question with what you do know about him (his full name, approximate year of birth/death, place of death ?). You can often find someones birth location from their death or marriage records or his children’s birth records. Immigration and military records are also a great source. Sometimes, spelling variations of ones name can be tricky There are a lot of great researchers here willing to help. Good luck. – I’ll check back.
