My local library has Ancestry but when I tried to use it the other day part of it was restricted, you can view?
images but not the records information. I have been trying to get to speak to the guy who is in charge of the History Dept within the library, but he’s not in and of course nobody knows where he is. As the Council are paying the subscription fee and I am paying Council Tax so I am contributing towards the costs, is the library entitled to deny the public access to the records’ information
Was it stuff from the London Metropolitan Archives that Ancestry has only recently put on? I’ve got a full sub and I could swear that the other day there was a heap of unindexed images of records from there and I thought “What the hell use is that?”
And then when I went back and looked again there was just the indexed births and deaths from that collection (with images) and was starting to wonder if I had imagined it .
