Ancestry Resources
Need information to track down what happened to a guy in 1950?

Relative entered by ship in September 1950 by boat (arriving in New York) – got an image of the manifest through Ancestry.com. The relative is definitely dead (aged 44 in 1950) and there are no other relatives who know anything else. There the trail goes cold – what other resources (official records) are there to find out more about what happened to this guy?
Ancestry.com checked many databases, the only thing showing a match is an immigration record. Is there any way to find out where he worked, find out who his colleagues and neighbors were, and get information that way?

If you know where he died, check local newspapers for an obit. Check cemetery records if you know where he is buried.
The obit may tell where he worked depends on the area. Some obits are a life story some don’t give you much. Those are the two places I would start.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Racial and ethnic groups can exhibit substantial average differences in disease incidence, disease severity, disease progression, and response to treatment. In the United States, African Americans have higher rates of mortality than does any other racial or ethnic group for 8 of the top 10 causes of death. U.S. Latinos have higher rates of death from diabetes, liver disease, and infectious diseases than do nonLatinos. Native Americans suffer from higher rates of diabetes, tuberculosis, pneumonia, influenza, and alcoholism than does the rest of the U.S. population. For the monogenic diseases, the frequency of causative alleles usually correlates best with ancestry, whether familial, ethnic, or geographical. To the extent that ancestry corresponds with racial or ethnic groups or subgroups, the incidence of monogenic diseases can differ between groups categorized by race or ethnicity, and healthcare professionals typically take these patterns into account in making diagnoses.
