Do you need a visa to be an Au Pair in the UK if you are from Canada?
I am planning on moving to London to be an Au Pair next month (mid-late August). It is a very last minute thing so kind of a headache at the moment. I was wondering If I even need a visa to work as an Au Pair?
My grandfather is from London so I can apply for a UK ancestry permit that allows me to live and work in the UK for 5 years and after that I can apply for citizenship.
However, since this is such a last minute thing I don’t know if I have the time for this and was hoping I don’t even need to apply for it before…. that I could maybe just get my plane ticket and go, then try to apply for my ancestry permit while I am there?
Ahh please help! I looked online and the British Consulate is not helpful whatsoever and the only number I can seem to find that actually will have a human being on the other side and not a machine, charges 3.20 pounds a minute +taxes
