Maternal grandparents were born in NFLD when it was under British Rule, can i get an ancestry visa?

Ok so heres the deal, my boyfriend lives in the UK, I, being in Canada, want to move in with him. From what I’ve heard its pretty tough to get into the UK, and having no career and no high school diploma makes it that much harder. A friend of the family made a comment about my grandparents being born in NFLD while it was under British rule, making them British Citizens at birth. From what ive found on the internet, it seems you can claim an ancestry visa if your grandparents were actually born in the UK, but since mine weren’t, I’m a tad bit confused as to if i can get anywhere with this. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Do I qualify for UK Ancestry?
You will qualify if you can show that:

you are a Commonwealth citizen
you are aged 17 or over
you have a grandparent who was born in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man (see note below)
you have a grandparent who was born in what is now the Republic of Ireland before 31 March 1922 (see note below)
you are able to work and intend to do so in the UK, and
you can support yourself and any dependants without needing any help from public funds.
