Can I study with a UK Ancestry Visa.?
I have a UK Ancestry Visa which was issued last September in the UK, upon completion of a four year period on a prior Ancestry Visa. I left the UK in December 2009 and returned to the Caribbean, to seek vocational training. I plan to return to UK in August 2010 to pursue a 9 month vocational course at a University. I intend to seek employment in my chosen field within the UK on completion of the vocational course. Can you advise me as to whether I can pursue a vocational course with an Ancestry Visa and the consequential impact on an application for Indefinite Leave to Remain, taken into account that I may be outside the UK for nine months in pursuance of vocational training.
Might wanna be careful there.
“# You have spent five years continuously in the UK and can show that you have an employment history throughout that five year period. If you intend to apply for ILR you should not spend more than 90 days per year outside the UK during this five year period.
# If at the end of your five year ancestry visa you do not meet all of the ILR qualifying criteria you may apply for an extension to your ancestry visa. “
