How do you clean an antique hand-tinted photograph.?
It is a panoramic photo in a frame without glass.
To begin this is definately not a do it yourself kind of job. There are lots of variables you have to deal with when doing a traditional restoration job of an antique photo and without having a full understanding of which methods were employed to create the photo, you are best to take it to a professional.
Now on the other hand, I would suggest you get a high resolution scan of the photo, and either restore the photo yourself using Photoshop, or upload the photo to one of the many digital and film restoration shops around the country. This way you will preserve the integrity of the original photo, and you will have a backup copy. Here is a link to a restoration shop.
