British Citizenship Ancestry
“Honorary Grant of Arms”?

In England the College Arms offers “Honorary” grants of arms to american citizens. These persons must be male and must be able to establish ancestry from a british subject prior to end of the american revolution (1783). My question is what is an “Honorary” grant of arms and how would one differ from the grant that is made normally to who hold UK citizenship?

Defining British Citizenship by Karatani, Rieko Edition , 1

Unlike many nations Britain had not developed a national citizenship by the 20th century. Instead belonging in Britain was merely a function of allegiance to the Crown. This lack of definition was seen as beneficial. This title explores the implications of such vagueness as a new millennium begins.

Eurasian (Mixed Ancestry)

Eurasian (Mixed Ancestry)

$60.54

The word Eurasian refers to people of mixed Asian and European ancestry. It was originally coined in 19th century British India to refer to AngloIndians of mixed British and Indian descent. The term has seen some use in anthropological literature from the 1960s. Many Eurasian ethnic groups arose during colonial occupation of Asian regions by European states and private corporations, that started with the great wave of European naval expansion and exploration in the 16th century and continues to the present. The main European colonial powers were Spain and Portugal in the 16th century, followed by the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and France from the 17th century onwards. The term Eurasian was first coined in British India in 1844. The term was originally used to refer to what are now known as AngloIndians, people of mixed British and Indian descent. In many regions, Eurasians tended to marry and socialize mostly among themselves thus forming a separate social and economic class, which eventually became a distinctive ethnic group. Muslim Minorities and Citizenship (Hardcover)

Muslim Minorities and Citizenship (Hardcover)

$190.03

The issues of citizenship, identity, and cohesion have rarely been as vital as they are today. Since the events of 9/11 and subsequent terrorist episodes in Bali, Madrid, London, and elsewhere, focus in this area has centered primarily upon Muslim minority communities living in the West. This book examines the question of citizenship and loyalty, drawing on the historical contexts of Muslim minorities living under British and French imperial rule in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and looks at how shari`a functioned within the context of imperial civil code. It draws important comparisons that are of immense relevance today, and engages with current debates about the compatibility of Islamic law with civil law in non-Islamic societies. Engaging with both Muslim minority and government perspectives, this is important reading for scholars, students, commentators, and policy-makers concerned with the question of Western engagement with its own minorities.

Active citizenship is the philosophy that citizens should work towards the betterment of their community through economic participation, public service, volunteer work, and other such efforts to improve life for all citizens. In this vein, schools in some countries provide citizenship education. Barack Obama Citizenship Conspiracy Theories

Barack Obama Citizenship Conspiracy Theories

$141.79

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Conspiracy theories reject the legitimacy of President of the United States Barack Obamas citizenship and his eligibility to be President. Some of these conspiracy theories allege that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and that his birth certificate is a forgery. Other conspiracy theories allege that Obama is a citizen of Indonesia, or that because he had dual citizenship at birth (British and American), he is not a natural born citizen of the US. Being a natural born citizen is a requirement to be President of the United States under Article Two of the United States Constitution. These theories received attention in mid2008 following Obamas victory in the Democratic primaries, in late 2008 early 2009 with regard to the Electoral College vote and Obamas inauguration, and again in mid2009 following a lawsuit by Army reservist Stefan F. Cook. These claims are promoted by a number of fringe theorists and political opponents who filed lawsuits which sought to disqualify Obama from standing or being confirmed as President, or to obtain additional proof that he is qualified.
