Can I use a prepaid/gift card for an Ancestry.com account?
Hi all! I am really interested in signing up for an Ancestry.com account but I’ve seen alot of complaints about overcharging and charges still happening after account is closed or when the month/year is up. I can’t really afford for that to happen so I am looking into getting one of those Visa prepaid/gift cards like the kind Wal-Mart etc. Has anyone used one of these for this website successfully? I read somewhere at one time that somehow they might know it’s a gift card and won’t accept it. Just trying to see if that is true before I go out and get one.
Also I am looking into what is included in the membership. I remember at one time you had to subscribe to each database (add-ons) seperately with each having their own charge. But now when I go to the site I only see 2 options – US Deluxe and World Deluxe. Does that mean ALL is included if I were to choose the World Deluxe or am I just missing the other options/add-ons (census, military somehow? THANKS!

On the second question about how they charge for their databases or add-ons, they only have two levels of services after trials periods and any free periods that may come with the purchase of software, they are:

Annual World Deluxe Membership
If you choose World Deluxe everything is included as far as databases are concerned, they do have some additional services that they charge like printing but there are no hidden charges.
