
Is there any descent places FREE RIGHT?
I'm trying to do some research for my wife to see information about his biological father, but wherever I go, everyone wants money. What a damn scam! Does anyone know where I can go for records from 1890-1920 that are free? footnote.com Ancestry.com are all scams. Can anyone help?
U.S. access to vital records and coverage varies from state to state. Each state has its own rules and regulations, but for privacy reasons, death records are closed to the public for about 50 years and birth records from 75 to 100 years. However, you can sometimes get these records for genealogical purposes if you can prove a relationship. In some states began statewide maintenance Civil Registration later than others, in some cases, well into the 1900s. However, many countries began to record vital statistics decades before the state in which the mandate. They are available at FamilySearch.org in pilot site: http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsear … Only recently the death certificates in Texas and are now adding death in Ohio. There are some few websites that have some vital records for free. For example, the state of Missouri has the death of the years 1910-1958 on its website at: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources … Some pre 1910 birth certificates and death are also available on the site. In summary, there are few birth records available without charge, but not many usually be 75 to 100 years of age and not everyone will be in one place.
