I love soul food. Every bit of it. I do not know where you got such a bad reputation. McDonald has no right to say that they represent the true American flavor abroad. I say it soul food. Most of our ancestors ate cornbread before that any such thing as Wonder bread. The collard greens are full of vitamin B and A. Black Eyed Peas are great. Catfish, chicken fried steak, and especially chitlins. Ham hocks and turnip greens?, Charming. Win my heart? Cook me some food for the soul. My favorite is the mashed potatoes with butter and chives. No joke. Do any of you ever tried?
No. Food is the soul's intake of foods that use one or arrived with the slaves. Slaves were cooks in the homes of most of the plantations. They worked part of its culinary traditions as fixed.
