How Spanish names change from generation to generation?

Ok, so you have to do a project for Spanish, it is assumed Tree I should change my surname to follow "Spanish Surname" guides, my teacher gave an example vague, but i cannot really understand, know how Man, born as a name, and you get married and keep the last one his father's name and adopt the surname of her second husband. but I do not know for example when one is born, name the same as your parents, or a combination of their fathers and mothers? Im just getting more and more confused, so I'd appreciate if someone could clarify this a little. She also asked a little more simple, to me what relationship is my sisters husband I in Spanish? Thanks!

Hey. This is particularly difficult to understand for almost anyone who is not Hispanic. 1. This is what happens: In all Spanish speaking countries (not to say, Spain, Mexico, Equatorial Guinea and many more) we have two family names and not one as in many other countries (eg USA). Suppose your name is Mary. the surname of his father's name is Perez and his mother is Lopez. Your full name will appear as Maria Perez Lopez and always use this name on. In the case of marriages, to retain her surname maiden, however, there is one detail: Say your name is Maria Perez Lopez and marry a José Sánchez González. His name is still Mary Perez Lopez, but it is also known as Mary Doe "of Gonzalez (husband's name, saying that you're actually his wife … and what kind "belong" to him. I personally do not agree with this designation). This last reference is not in official use and its name remains the same in all documents. In the U.S. Hispanics who have come to have only one name (in this case his father). Again, if you are María Pérez López, no only going to Maria Perez. Centuries ago, many immigration officers in a bad state by these two names, and make Mary "Perez-Lopez." It is complicated, indeed! But you can read the first paragraph again, omitting this and get a broader idea. 2. If we are talking about the translation of "brother-in-law," That would be a brother "in Spanish. Hope this helps!
