I need help finding my family tree?

my mom told me we are related to Abraham Lincoln. and I want to see or tree bllodline or whatever. because i just really want to know if its true. And I also want to see who else im related. if it helps everyone my name is Katie Phillips. my name Phillips is kKenle parents and my moms name is Carrie Bisig (maiden name), thanks for the help

You may be related, but the last descendant Abe live died long ago, when I was young. Try: You should start by asking your family life all about your family. Then, armed with this information, you can go to the public library and check to see if you have a genealogy department. Most do nowadays, too, do not forget to check community colleges, universities, etc. Our public library has both www.ancestry.com and www.heritagequest.com free for anyone to use (no library card required). Another place to check is any of the Family History Centers of Mormon. They allow people to search their family history (and, no, do not try to convert). A third option is one of the following websites: http://www.searchforancestors.com/ … http://www.censusrecords.net/?o_xid=2739 … http://www.usgenweb.com/ http://www.census.gov/ http://www.rootsweb.com/ http://www.ukgenweb.com/ http://www.archives.gov/ http://www.familysearch.org/ http://www.accessgenealogy.com/ … http://www.cyndislist. com / http://www.geni.com/ Cyndi has the most links to genealogy Web sites, if ship passenger lists, ancestors from Africa, the ancestors of the Philippines, wherever and whatever. Of course, you can succeed by google: "John Doe, born 1620, Plymouth, Massachusetts" as an example. Good luck and have fun! Check this article on five great free web sites genealogy: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article … Then there is the test DNA, if you decide you want to REALLY know where your ancestors came from opt for DNA testing. Besides all the mistakes that officials commonly make, from 10% to 20% of birth certificates list the father wrong, that is, mama was doing the tricks and another person was the real father. That will not be displayed on the Internet or books, but that will be displayed in the DNA. Www.familytreedna.com I used to work with the National Geographics Genotype Programme.
