Johnny Ringo

Early
Ringo was born in Greens Fork, Indiana. His family moved to Liberty, Missouri in 1856. He was a contemporary of Frank and Jesse James, who lived near Kearney, Missouri, and a cousin of Cole Younger.
In 1858 the family moved to Gallatin, Missouri, where they had rented the owned by the father of John W. Sheets (which would be the first "official" victim of the James gang when they robbed the Davis County Savings Association in 1869).
On July 30, 1864, while the family was traveling through Wyoming Ringo on his way to moving to California, Martin Ringo (Johnny's father) got out of his car while holding a shotgun accidentally fired. Load shotgun entered the right side of his face, leaving the top of the head. The 14-year-old John Ringo and the rest of his family buried him on a hill beside the road.
Mason County War
By the mid-1870s, Ringo had emigrated from San Jose, California to central Texas, in the vicinity of Mason County, Texas. Here he became friends with a former Texas Ranger named Scott Cooley, who was the adopted son of a local rancher named Tim Williamson. For years, relations between American and German residents of the area had been tense (an extension of the Civil War) since the majority of Americans support the Confederates while the Germans were loyal to the European Union.
The trouble began when two thieves of America Elijah and Pete Backus, were released from jail and lynched by a Mason predominantly German crowd. The outbreak of the war began on May 13, 1875, when Tim Williamson was arrested for firing a hostile and killed by German farmer named Peter Bader. Cooley and his friends, including Johnny Ringo, carried out a campaign of terror against rivals. Officially called the "Mason County War", locally named "Hoodoo" War. Cooley retaliated by killing the German local assistant Sheriff, John Worley, pulling him, scalp, and throwing his body down a well on August 10, 1875.
Cooley and had a reputation as dangerous, and respected as a Texas Ranger, and kill many others during the "war." After the murder of a follower of Moses Baird Cooley, Ringo committed his first murder of note the September 25, 1875, when he and a friend named Bill Williams rode in front of the house of James Cheyney, the man who led Baird in the ambush. As Cheyney came out unarmed, were invited to come and began to wash his face on the porch, both Ringo and Williams shot and killed him. The two then went to the home of Dave Doole, and he called out, but when it came out with a gun, fled back to the city.
Some time later, Johnny Ringo and Scott Cooley Charley Bader mistook for his brother Pete and killed him. After both men were jailed in Burnet, Texas by Sheriff AJ Strickland. Both Ringo and Cooley broke out of prison by his friends shortly after, they separated and the company to evade the law.
In November 1876, the Mason County War had been exhausted after costing a dozen lives, Scott Cooley was believed dead and Johnny Ringo and his friend George Gladden were locked again. One of the cellmates Ringo was the notorious murderer John Wesley Hardin. Legend has it that Wes Hardin feared Ringo, because of the cruelty of Ringo and unpredictable temperament, but there is nothing documented to support the claim. While Gladden was sentenced to 99 years, Ringo seems to have been acquitted. Two years later, Ringo was observed as a police officer in the Loyal Valley, Texas. Shortly after, he appeared in Arizona for the first time.
Tablet sepulchral
Ringo first appeared around Cochise County, Arizona in 1879 with Joseph Graves Olney (aka "Joe Hill"), a companion in arms the Mason County War. For the most part, Johnny Ringo maintain itself only element to be mixed with local law when it suited him. In December 1879, a Ringo intoxicated clear shot at unarmed Louis Hancock in a Safford, Arizona room when he refused a complimentary drink of whiskey, stating that the preferred beer. Hancock survived his wound.
While in and around Tombstone, Arizona, Ringo kept his mouth shut while others walked in fear of him. He had a reputation be in a bad mood at the time, but below the two unarmed men and Cheyney Hancock, had documented any shootings or murders to his credit. He probably participated in robberies and killings to the "cowboy" element, and the rumor credited with a high position in the chain of command outside the law, perhaps only surpassed by Curly Bill Brocius.
Johnny Ringo did not openly confront Wyatt Earp faction until January 17, 1882, less than three months after the duel at the OK Corral, but not long after Virgil Earp had been dismissed from the post of chief of police for attempted murder. Ringo and Doc Holliday had a public disagreement, trade threats seemed lead to a gunfight. However, before the fight could happen, both were arrested by the new chief of police of Tombstone James Flynn, brought before a judge to take weapons in the city, and a fine of both.
Two months later, Ringo was suspected by the Earp to participate in the murder of Morgan Earp on March 18, 1882. After revenge Wyatt of this death, Ringo was deputized by John Behan to apprehend the Earps at the beginning of the Earp Vendetta Ride. Within months, the best friends were killed Ringo or expelled from the area, some of them died in the feud. However, in mid-April Earp and his friends had apparently left the area, and fled to Colorado.

On July 14, 1882, Johnny Ringo was found died in the crotch of a large tree in the west of Turkey Creek Valley, with a bullet hole in the right temple and an exit in the back of his head. Ringo's revolver, a spent round, was found hanging from a finger of his hand. His body was apparently there all night from the day before (when a shot had been heard from the general area by a resident of the country). His feet were wrapped in pieces of his shirt. His boots were found tied to his saddle, which captured two miles away. A forensic investigation officially ruled his death a suicide.
However, many years later, the wife of Wyatt Earp claimed 47 to kill Earp and Doc Holliday, with the supply before the fatal shot in the head from a distance with a rifle. Fred Dodge, Wells Fargo detective and confidant Earp, attributed killing a player named Mike O'Rourke, aka Johnny behind Deuce, "as recorded by Nathaniel Stuart Lake.
Johnny Ringo is buried near same place where his body was found in the west of Turkey Creek Canyon (315149 1092016 / 31.86361N 109.33778W / 31.86361, -109.33778), the place is near the base of tree in which it was found, which has recently fallen. The grave is on private land today, and you need permission to view the site (see link below).
Theories of Ringo's death
Many people in recent years been suspected of killing Johnny Ringo, including Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, O'Rourke and Buckskin Frank Leslie. The 1993 film Tombstone has a spectacular eye to eye when fighting Doc Holliday killed Ringo outbreaks, one of the ends of the legendary "King the Cowboys. "
According to the coroner's report, Ringo committed suicide. A few weeks before the death of Ringo, Tombstone biggest fire had eliminated most the center of the city. The silver mines were producing less and the demand for beef declined. Many of Ringo's friends had left, while turning your lifestyle quickly a thing of the past. Ringo was depressed after being rejected by family members remaining in California and the recent deaths of their friends outside of the law. Stoked by a period of excessive alcohol consumption, Ringo was going to camp in an isolated location away from the city. Boots tied to his chair, a common practice scorpions in Arizona to keep them, but the horse escaped from his squad and ran. Ringo pieces of his shirt tied at his feet to protect them (they were found in your body and observed by the judicial investigation), and got into the fork of a large tree for the night. As the night went on, discouraged by their general, Ringo shot himself.
Wyatt Earp killed Ringo. Earp and Holliday returned to Arizona and met with some friends at Hooker Ranch. Among them were Charlie Smith Johnny Green, John Meagher and Fred Dodge. Ringo found camped about three miles from where it was found. Ringo took his arms and ran through the canyon. He shot the posse once, and then he Earp shot in the head with a rifle.
Doc Holliday killed Ringo. Ringo and Earp assumed that one day duel. Holliday, who hated Ringo, intervened for his friend and shot him in the head. This theory has been popularized by the movie Tombstone. Holliday, however, was fighting a lawsuit in Colorado at the time of the death of Ringo. The official records of the District Court of Pueblo County, Colorado indicate that both Holliday and his lawyer appeared in court on 11 July, 14 and 18, 1882, making it impossible for Holliday killing Johnny Ringo. Karen Holliday Tanner, however, argued that the Doc, in fact, was not in town at this time as some have claimed, pointing to an arrest or detention order issued by him in court on July 11. Instead only his attorney appeared on his behalf that day. Despite the wording of a court record indicating that n character may have appeared on his own person Propera proper legal standard dummy text does not mean that the person was not necessarily. There is also no doubt that Holliday came in Salida, Colorado (500 miles away from the shooting that occurred six days Ringo later, but only 80 miles from Pueblo) on July 7, as reported in a newspaper of the city. Thus, the participation of Holliday, while unlikely, is unknown.
Buckskin Frank Leslie gunman killed Ringo. Leslie Ringo found drunk and sleeping in a tree. Hoping to do a favor with supporters Earp in office, Ringo shot in the head. Billy Ringo Leslie Claiborne believed dead, and said his fatal confrontation with Leslie was due to this fact. However, Claiborne actually demanded that Leslie refers to him as "Billy the Kid, and when Leslie Claiborne refused challenged him. Claiborne was shot through the right side, the bullet comes out of the back and died hours later. His last words were supposedly "Frank Leslie killed John Ringo. I saw him do it," another claim that has no supporting evidence.
Mike O'Rourke killed Ringo. O'Rourke Earp was in debt to save him from the mob. Ringo was supposedly the leader of the mafia. Ringo O'Rourke crept up and shot in the head. Ringo friend Pony Diehl O'Rourke believes killed him, and O'Rourke said he killed shortly thereafter. However, while Diehl was in town at the time O'Rourke died, his actual death was not witnessed by anyone, and actually died shortly after O'Rourke of being caught cheating in the game. As to whether the rumor of his involvement in the death of Ringo had nothing to do with this has never been proven, nor ever admit Pony Diehl than murder.
