how do i find out some ones family history and family tree?
this person i am researching will not give me much information that i can work with
You do a lot of research in birth, death, and marriage records; census records; church records; land records and plat maps; family bibles; whatever paper trail you can find on them. There is nothing quick and easy if you want the history and tree of the correct family. You begin by getting all the information you can from the person you are researching, their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Then verify the information with written records.
Do not depend on family trees found online, as they will quite often contain errors. Look for documentation on any tree you look at.
Also realize that many people can have the same name, so you need to have information on births, deaths, other family members, and where they lived to be sure you are looking at the right family history or tree.
