idenify kid help me this book from the 80s?
I remember a story I read probably about 1987 more or less on a black girl who goes to Washington DC (* maybe * for spring break … not 100% sure though) with his family on vacation. I clearly remember a remark about how beautiful flowering cherry trees and think I drove around and looked at various tourist sites in DC I mainly want to find the book, because I remember the illustrations were gorgeous! I realize this is not much information, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I appreciate your help very much! 
Was The Japanese cherry blossoms in Washington, DC: a living symbol of friendship of Roland M. Jefferson …?? I remember it too … and I feel like I could have been something … argh, it's gonna drive me crazy right now!
