I have part of my family tree genes could meet …. I move to ancestory.co.uk … if so, how do I do .. thanks
This is what is in the FAQ Genesreunuited. "I can export my file and save it to a CD? You can export Genes Reunited tree as a GEDCOM file. You can do this by selecting Import and Export gedcom at the bottom of the page.You Use this in conjunction with a software package of the family tree to view and edit your tree line. Some packages may also allow you to print your tree. Its Exported tree is compatible with Personal Ancestral File, Family Tree Maker, Family Historian, Roots Magic, Family Tree and legacy. It should work with most software, but currently can not guarantee this. To export, click on the tree 'Gedcom Export button once. The page will change and the state is shown as "awaiting export." As soon as the exported file has been sent to your registered email address. This is shown in the "export" box towards the bottom of the page. If the address is wrong can be changed by clicking on My Account at the top right corner the place. Even if you do not currently have a software package that can still export the file. However, in order to view it, you need the software to view it. There are various packages available to buy on the market. There are also websites where you can download the packages for free. Once you have exported the file can be saved on a CD. To save on a disk that you must first save it to your PC. You can then copy the file on the CD. Is saved to disk as gedcom. Once you have edited the tree online, you can add new genes to the Meeting. Please note that when you load a gedcom to the site will overwrite any previous tree is on the site. Once you upload a new file the old tree can not be restored. Hope this helps.
