Could you please help me with my new Nikon D60? (LIGHT SHOWING UP)?
I have it I just a month ago and am still learning to use it. Im trying to get photography lessons. But this Christmas, I still want to try and take pictures. when we put the tree, I tried to take photos, but the lights do not appear in the tree? can you please tell me good options that will make the scene more effective. and configuration of good family photo next to the tree too. (Shown lights up) please help.
Without seeing an image that is difficult to say how you went wrong and what I was trying to achieve (it is say what you want the image appears). But in general I prefer a longer exposure (You will need a tripod, or to hold the camera something that does not move to reduce camera shake). Along with that you may want to use the timer button that you press vibrations the shutter button has time to calm down before the shutter opens (with long exposures, the slightest vibration can make it look flash). If you want to get a depth of field (This may seem pretty with enough Christmas lights), will have a wider opening, but combining this with an exhibition longer can lead to overexposed images. Also, most Christmas tree lights tend to be incandescent, so you might want to experiment with adjusting the white balance tungsten. For photos of the family near the tree, although I would not recommend the camera flash I appreciate your all you have, but try using a configuration as "slow sync" – that way you blend in a bit of ambient (background) light of a pleasant balance. The great thing about digital is that you can experiment, see the results immediately and delete the ones you dislike.
