Ethan Frome related movie?
I have to do a project for school about a movie or TV show on the book of Ethan Frome. The play deals with a man who is married to a woman who is sick all the time and has to take care of it. All his life has had to care for their sick family member and never came to realize their dreams. his wife's cousin comes to live with them because their parents died and he falls for her. West wants to flee with her, but do not have enough money. Eventually crash into a tree in a sleigh and finish crippled and his wife must care for both. I have no ideas, except maybe Spiderman. Some people are doing The Little Mermaid and Forrest Gump. Are there other stories where the main character is a person, but wants to be with someone else, but you can not betray the people who care about him? We also need to include background music to our project. Any ideas? The overall tone is dark and kindof sad.
The Wings of the Dove is similar to the book of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. Based on Henry James's 1902 novel of the same name, The Wings of the Dove is set in 1910. But Kate is more interested in Densher Merton (Linus Roache), a penniless journalist. A beautiful American heiress, but patients terminals, Millie Theale (Alison Elliott), arrives on the scene and befriends Kate. Kate notices Millie's obvious affection for the handsome Merton, and organized an elaborate plan to connect the two of them to Millie Merton can collect money after his death. But because of his own jealousy, Kate repeatedly sabotages her own arrangement.
