You know even though the level of your child is 28 months may simply not be ready. some children with special needs have so-called skills son … meaning maybe your son is 28 months the level of functioning in certain areas, but not in others. I work with a child of seven years old girl with disabilities and have been training in the same manner and same amount of time … and have nothing here either. Sometimes it happens to go to cheer and applaud that and stuff but sometimes I have serious doubts if he really knows why we are cheering for her and I think most of all he likes the fact that we are paying attention to her. However, his therapists and teachers all agree that nothing is lost with a bathroom on a regular schedule at all times, because we hope that sooner or later, begin to understand what is happening. We also use the chest, and switch to say things like "bathroom please" that the press have every time we take her to the bathroom.
