Family Tree Software?
Can anyone recommend a good tree software does not publish to an external source or website.
I have used Family Tree Maker from Version 1 … that was a LONG time. Although currently use FTM Version 16 (this is not later than the date, but as a researcher experienced it only wants to "do it", I really did not like the user interfaces for 2008, 2009 and 2010 assume. But if you're a beginner, the interfaces Users are probably desirable). From my experience, none of them will be published on a website external source or unless asked. They can "encourage" her – Because most come with a month or so access to something, like Ancestry.com – and that will get you hooked to the site and start paying once the trial or subscription free runs out, but it will not without your express permission. A number of these programs – all of them are just databases with multiple user interfaces. Some have niftier tree generation modules (ascending, descending, etc) and things like calculators, relationship, etc, but I found FTM well for many, many, many, many, many … get the point … years.
