Help me make some new traditions of Thanksgiving please!?
Hello, when I was a kid our version of Thanksgiving always going to grandmas, it was not stressful, very funny and always felt like we were just going through the motions. Now that I have two small children (At the time) 28 months and 11 months and a husband (the dog too, but she is not a factor in this lol) I want to make new traditions, the fun that not only goes through of the motions. My parents can not come, but a family friend in his late 50s is well. I want to trim the trees (which are cutting a new one last Sunday) to eat a good meal and beyond that I do not know what else to do, football is, no one, but my husband has today. Any ideas? We live in Iowa, in a house in a small town near Des Moines. Also would be great ideas for meals not really know what traditional foods. Thank you all in advance
Traditional Thanksgiving foods may vary from family background to the family tradition in every household. Collect them all and that each person says something that other people are grateful. It is enlightening to hear the thoughts of others and giving real meaning of why we celebrate the feast day itself. Although a 28 month old can be taught to be grateful for something. Just to be thankful! Our home is always the turkey. My husband smokes (either a turkey breast or whole birds). We love the favor and always use apple juice to soak the wood chips and apple juice in the water bowl too. Another favorite and demanded my son is Carrot Souffle. "as.com Use and type it in and find recipes for it. You never know that you're eating carrots. I can replace my blood sugar with Splenda in it and use real butter. I always do green beans, and cook in GOYA Seasoning. Can be found on the island of Ethnic box with the pig in it (ham flavor). Add a few drops of oil and a couple of packages and simmer. Potato Salad and Deviled Eggs are also a necessity. This year I'm going to do a Paula Dean and make jellied cranberry sauce and remove it from the can. I'm going to cut it and make hamburgers. I'll beat the whipped cream cheese finely chopped pecans and spread a slice with him and top with another slice of cranberry sauce. Like a sandwich. It looks festive and got to love the cream cheese until sour cream and butter! I keep Dean (Paula foodnetwork.com) recipe for cornbread stuffing. Always out perfect and tasty. Her recipes are foolproof and easy. Another Our favorite is corn pudding. I do it with Jiffy Cornbread Mix and sour cream and cream style corn. It is always good and never have to spare. Sometimes we a macaroni and cheese. This is a favorite of my father-in-law and is due to undergo an operation on Thanksgiving, so you can make plans for a dish Mac and Cheese. A great place to look is northpole.com is full of recipes for cookies, pies, cakes, chocolate and vegetable main dish.
