When cellular service Vanishes
Cell phones have always been his Achilles heel. Dead zones. Pass under a bridge and as The AM radio reception crackles and spits. "You break," the caller said. "Can you hear me now?" Comes the rejoinder cliché. This is especially great when you're talking to a boyfriend or girlfriend and a heavy relationship conversation suddenly becomes incomprehensible. Are saying they want to see other people or who want to go for pizza? Can not be sure. Although the pizza is sound very good.
We've all been there. It's annoying. But it gets worse.
Take the day when all cellular services suddenly vanishes. Well, that happened to almost 14 million T-Mobile customers in the 4 pm on November 03 this year. Suddenly, people around the country had the same problem with T-Mobile service. Requests the moment is interrupted, people received an odd busy signal. Screens on saying no service available. People tried to call 911 and – nothing. It got ugly. Blogs quickly became rant in rooms. Twitter lit up like a Christmas tree. Customers were shocked and more – phones, suddenly vital again.
To the next day, T-Mobile posted the following on your website:
ATTENTION:
T-Mobile confirmed that it had fully restored voice and text / picture messaging services to customers affected by outages intermittently on Tuesday. About five percent of our customers across different geographies were affected for most of Tuesday evening, and by late Tuesday PST service was restored. Our goal has been full service catering for all customers, we are now investigating the root cause of the incident. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to our customers
Clinging to a fixed line
Although many young people are exposed to landlines in their first apartment a chilling experience as the night convincing T-Mobile cell disappeared many customers cling to residential telephone lines.
Resistant to weather
A woman in the Midwest describes a winter storm that ended his mains. "The result was two hours of no power," said. "After the first two hours of my son proclaimed the most boring days of his life (no computer or Nintendo). I have still hung on my phone fixed. The good thing too. Even my cell phone battery died. I keep my landline, thanks. "
The cell phone was designed originally as the emergency phone. Parents bought them for their teenage daughters who did not get stranded with car problems. People threw them in the glove box and forgot about them. Soon, however, more and more people began to use the emergency cell phone to chew the fat with a friend while driving in rush hour traffic. Then came the text messages, Blackberries with email and the iPhone with endless applications for everything but brain surgery and backrubs. Suddenly, the landline is being viewed as the hotline. Old Faithful. The port in the storm when phone service is not working and ice storms eliminating all other communications.
So if you use your home phone as a security system or as the main way to keep in contact friends and family, it seems that the line is here to stay. Not sure we can say the same for your T-Mobile service.
