Free People Finder Sites
If you are looking for an old friend who you have lost touch with the chances are that they will be on-line somewhere it’s just a matter of finding them.
Below are several sites and several ways to locate information about people on-line.
Google should not be underestimated as a people finder tool; it is the most comprehensive way to search for information on the internet and should be your first choice. Simply visit the Google website and put the name of the person you are looking for in brackets “My lost friend’s name” and then search, you will often find that if you search like this you will find some information about your old friend and possibly a means of contact.
123people.com
123people allows you to search people’s details by name; it is not totally accurate and does include America so search results can be varied. It does give email addresses and social networking site matches so it can put you in the right place to move your investigation forward.
Ancestry.co.uk
This site is a fantastic way to find information about your friends and family, as the saying goes you sometimes have to step back to move forward and this site allows you to do that brilliantly, you can search your family tree and look at death and marriage registers.
Facebook is a fantastic way to find old friends, you can search for them on the site by name and then ask to become friends, once they’ve accepted you can chat directly to them in public or privately. Most people usually have a photo on there too so you can confirm that you have the right person.
Friends Reunited.
Although not as popular as it once was, Friends Reunited remains a solid way to find people you have lost touch with. You can search by name and by area so you can really narrow your searches down. The best thing is it’s now free to contact people so once you have found an old friend you can contact them privately on the site.
However you go about finding your old friends on-line remember to go about your investigations discreetly and respectfully. When calling people make sure you explain fully who you are and why you are calling. Always write everything you do in your search down, if you are a weekend people finder then you need to keep track of where you are regarding your search without having to review everything or even do things twice. Remember if they are out there you can find them, it make take time, it may even take money but everyone can be found.
