Settlers Genealogy
Is there someone out there racing with a passion and aptitude for genealogical research?

My son is a high school with Asperger syndrome, a form of very high-functioning autism. His lack of social and emotional maturity, anxiety, poor social and independent living skills, are disabling enough for him to receive SSI. Intellectually, however, is strong. He has a GPA of 4.0, but works very hard to get those degrees, at a very slow pace. He is a perfectionist. Things that are easy to memorize and approaches to involve straighforward. For three years my son has been solved in a special interest in genealogy. He has a fascination with old documents and photographs. We African-Americans, and academic lucky to have ancestors from me that kept extensive records and diaries. lineage his father again including English settlers first official city in North Carolina. He has been tenacious in their investigation and its findings are impressive. My son is a lonely and wants a solo career. Are there jobs that pay for someone with your skill set? What university would be better?

There are several big races in which the child can combine his love for research, genealogy and attention to detail and not have to deal with social problems. I would like warn against professional genealogy because it requires application of new customers, frequent contact during the investigation and the need to provide a high level customer service. But do not stop there. If your son were to get a dual degree in Library Science and History, he could write his own ticket in the world of file and historical research. Rather than ask their clients from the general public, which could become a professional historian and archivist doing research for the judicial system, genealogists and historians worldwide. It is a very lucrative position that allows you to work either in a large library and archives, or in a museum, and pull the records are obscure and hard to find. If you read many of the requests on this site alone is a profession in great demand. Example: Say your son gets a job in Raleigh North Carolina at Duke working and doing research in the Archives of the State. Ted Pack needs to find records of succession, 1802 in its 3rd great grandfather of his mother's side, but are not sure of the spelling of his surname. Either the request is made by the court or the state archives, then they to have an investigator to enter and search those records. Most states charge $ 50/hour or more for this type of research. Realistically, your child may Make $ 30 of that and spend the time needed to find what you're looking for. Ted paid by the state, the state pays her son, and everyone is happy. If you looking for a school with a good program in this field, proof of Michigan State University.

Albion’s Seed: Four British Folkways in America (America: A Cultural History)

This fascinating book is the first volume in a projected cultural history of the United States, from the earliest English settlements to our own time. It is a history of American folkways as they have changed through time, and it argues a thesis about the importance for the United States of having been British in its cultural origins. While most people in the United States today have no British an…
