Is it legal to publish the names of the family tree?
I did a search on my name in google and found a website with my tree family in it. They put my name out there without wondering if it is correct. Are they legally allowed to do that without my say? I am concerned for personal reasons and also because it is easy to get information that could be helpful as my mothers maiden name.
Unfortunately, it is legal for your name is not covered by intellectual property rights (unless under some strange signal of circumstances has changed its name and trade had marked him as some artists). It is unethical for the cartel to have it done, but the action against the site is limited. Most genealogy sites will not remove it, even on request the advertiser, since they have multiple disclaimers and open source and paid sites published.
