Adam: A Revolutionary Tablet PC
For those who are fans of Apple and those who have no idea, words are IPAD nevertheless required to generate a buzz of conversation. Forget the cheap Chinese copycats and the many other "me too" competitors who want to ride the bandwagon of the tablet, we bring you probably the most exciting invention of the Indian sub-continent after the "zero digit. But seriously. Once you take a look at Adam, will be more inclined to agree with my introduction overly zealous. After that set out the nature of Adam in a previous article , I contacted the creator, Rohan and Shravan here we have an exclusive interview:
I like to write a concept to creation of "history from the idea that germinated in his head when the apple fell from the tree, so to speak. Not that I'm comparing Newton but you get the point. If I'm going to eat your precious time (I know for a fact that must be super busy at the moment), while preparing for an epic battle as David (Rohan) vs. Goliath (Steve) I would like to ask you some questions.
1. Could you tell me a little about yourself, about your life? Where go to school and what subjects do you study (in addition to the standard program favorite)? In a few words what helped them prepare to become what you are today?
I belong to lower middle class family, was more interested in opening up the toys and then assembling, and instead of playing with them. From her childhood she had made many designs (a model city with 2075, the idols of chalk, handmade notebooks, telescopes, once tried to make a combustion engine internal as well when I was 14, but failed) changed about 9 schools, so I can say it was the only one. I was a bit of pain for teachers. Failure to attend classes. More interested in practical issues. I have the complete list of ratings. From Ex BTECH projects, electronic F in thermodynamics where I did not understand the need to consider the age of 60 engines. I am a mechanical engineer on the road. CAD design was my favorite subject, along with computers and electronics. In my summer vacations I learned Maya, 8086 programming and a lot of things unrelated to engineering (calligraphy, artificial intelligence, economy). I am dyslexic. Suddenly, everyone knows what is after Taare Zameen Par. When teachers begin to teach the Carnot cycle engine, I get to see the engine working and moving. And when the animation ends in my brain, the professor has taught the entire engine. So I thought why not me same on the same train. Now in a very large extent, I can open the devices, 3D display, and then exploit section, playing with shapes. Its really fun. At school used to design games and 3D animation. That was my CBSE class 12 project as well. Place of IIT JEE students in 12 also.
But the dream of this device came more than I wanted to do as a child of IIT. I wanted to be a musician. But good tools are expensive. I thought of a device that can help children like me learn anything. From music to Lego kits, drawing and painting quickly.
3. What is a typical day for you and who are the people you work with?
My day begins and ends in the laboratory. I love sleeping in the laboratory. Have not gone home from I went (February 2009), I live in New Delhi. I love the people working with me. Realize dreams is becoming stronger and toucher these days. And without them I can not do anything. I have three more of the same batch IITKGP, a friend from school and 3 more IITD, my seniors. Average number of persons working people 23yrs notion of ink.
4. How do you go about the design / creation / invention, and what goes through your mind, from start to finish if any?
I am working on Adam since 2007. I coined the name Adam in 2008, the first of its kind. There is much more Adam can be seen on the surface. AI be my strong field, there is plenty of intelligence and learning that the device will be achieved soon. It will be the first operating system assisted Worldwide. But that is one of the milestones in the future. Before fixing the idea, I do deep research. Writing letters mind. Asking random people watching how people react to different things. We have presented many patents as well as new ideas. Unfortunately you can not provide the software and user interface patents in India.
5. Who or what was your inspiration?
My mom, my girlfriend. And the orphans.
6. What part of the creation of Adam is more fun and easy, and what is harder?
Everything has been great fun. We had much luck in a few areas. It was really hard to make believe that we can make the products, not services, and also in India. And it's fun even after telling people that their form of tablets, you want to open it and find a keyboard hidden inside, same in India and the U.S..
7. What are some of the things we do to stay creative?
Observe the children!
8. What is their most favorite of Adam?
I love two of them, and have patents on them. The first is the back of the trackpad. The idea seems unusual at first, but believe me when srart use it, you'll think, was the invention obvious? People have tried this before, but never to the extent that we are trying.
Second the camera is rotating. It's fantastic. Law used to record the presentations in school and take notes on it, to actually selecting a focal point, while taking pictures, the possibilities are enormous. Add to that the auto focus, and now you can scan your business cards visit, etc.
9. What wisdom could you give us, being an artist and innovative? (I think that's what they are) Have you any advice that could give?
Do not let anyone steal your dreams. That is what happens to us all. We want to be someone else when we are children. And they become into something more as they grow. If people are against you, that's only until you prove yourself. If your family is against you, that's just than one year.
10. Finally, what kind of wake-up call would like to give the youth?
I have not seen that movie yet. A young, I would say, "It is time that our dreams of ink! Let's change things in place to complain! "
Rohan Shravan is the founder and creative director at the Ink "> Concept of ink, a firm dedicated to developing innovative products in information, communication and entertainment.
