Sacred Space?
My personal sacred space is a small area in the garden that I planted as Grove. Surrounded by trees, ash, birch, holly, fig, cherry, Old, Apple and Sycamore with a small pit fire in the center. It has a small altar on which offerings and keep a flame burning most of the time. It is my meditation space in good weather and a place to perform the ritual. I share it with friends and family too whenever the opportunity arises. Do you have a sacred space, and you tell me about it?
I spent much of this past summer building my sacred space in my backyard. It is a large courtyard, surrounded by oak trees and a large redwood tree. In the center is a piece of colored cement ground about 10 feet by 7 feet, and amid the painted BIG Triple Goddess in white. Then I got four altars, one for each of the rooms. The Altar of East Asian plants have light color, and a bust of Kwan Yin in the center. The Altar of the South has a fire pit, and 3 huge rocks, and Maiden, Mother and Crone, and carved Polynesian man "native", and my sister painted rock to look like a spiral of red and yellow snake. The Western Altar has blue flowers and a water source, and the Northern Altar has a miniature mountain range, a deer and a frog, and an abundance of green plants. So my space is the Triple Goddess to start, and started there, I do rituals there, and I can be Contact Air, Fire, Water, Earth, going to every altar, and then I get my hands up for the Spirit, and I see the squirrels and birds and the sky.
