Eastenders Episodes in Ireland $78.07 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In 1997, the BBC soap opera EastEnders broadcast three singular transmissions that were filmed on location in Dublin, Ireland. The episodes involved the Fowler and Beale family travelling from London to the Emerald Isle, to meet their longlost relatives. They were badly received by viewers and heavily criticised in the media. The BBC was inundated with complaints from angry viewers from Ireland for negative stereotyping, portraying Irish people as dirty, rude, and drunk. Complaints were made by the Irish Embassy and there were fears that the episodes would have a negative effect on the Irish tourist trade. The BBC was forced to issue an apology for causing offence. Slater Mill Historic Site $87.62 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Slater Mill Historic Site, also known as Slater Mill or Old Slater Mill, is located on the Blackstone River in Pawtucket, RI. It has been cited as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution in America, although an earlier horsepowered factory, the Beverly Cotton Manufactory, claimed the title of first cotton mill in America, making Slater Mills citation questionable for the honor. Slater Mill is modelled after the mills in England where Samuel Slater, the mills founder, had been apprenticed, as well as concept ideas founded at the Beverly Mill site by Moses Brown of Providence, Rhode Island and investors Thomas Somers and James Leonard from England. Browns family was one of the major owners of Slater Mill, and a partial owner of the Beverly Mill. Slater Mill was built in 1793. It served as the first commercially viable waterpowered roller cottonspinning mill in the United States. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F.
