How do I research my family tree online without paying money?
Try the sites of your local library, Library of Congress and any university library you may have access to. Also use whatever facts you already know as a starting point–for example if you know the entrypoint for any of your ancestors (eg., Ellis Island) you can do a search there. Do a search based on the family associations or cultural heritage societies in the areas that you know you had family members. Below are two sites to get you started.
